The Technophone 417 (Type THX-72X) became available in 1992 and was released after the takeover of Technophone by Nokia.
It was based on the Nokia 121 and had a distinctive antenna connector on the base of the handset. This made the handset ideally suited to business users as the phone could be connected to an in-vehicle "car kit" featuring an externally mounted antenna.
It was notable for having keypad LEDs behind the keys rather than lighting that illuminated the whole key mat. It was designed for use on 1G ETACS analogue networks.
