The ZTE Blade V6 (which was initially announced as the Blade D6) was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai event in July 2015. The phone had a lightweight high-grade 6013 aluminium alloy body and was 6.95mm thick. It was an Android-powered smartphone which used ZTE’s user interface, MiFavor 3.2. The Blade D6 had an 88-degree wide-angle five-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera. ZTE also offered “beautification options”, a smile shutter function, high-definition continuous shooting and an auto panorama mode. A key partnership for the Blade V6 was with Mexican mobile carrier Telcel. It launched the phone at an event called “Campus Party” where it was revealed to ‘Campuseros’ (hackers, developers, gamers and geeks) at an exclusive event. Four colour variants were offered: pink, gold, grey and silver (the model in the Mobile Phone Museum collection).
