The C550 was one of the first Motorola phones to have an integrated VGA camera and at the time of launch, at $180 (equivelant to $259 in June 2021) it was also one of the cheapest mobile phones with a built-in camera. The C550 also supported the MultiMedia Messaging service (MMS) as well as offering customisable ringtones and downloadable Java apps. It also had a eye-catching design with its silver and teal casing.
