The C6-01 was an important product for Nokia when it was launched. It offered a quality product at a competitive price of €260. This strengthened the company’s mid-tier smartphone portfolio at a time when it was facing growing competition from affordable Android powered products.
At the launch, Nokia described the phone as “a compact little number”. It had an eight-megapixel camera and a 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen that used Nokia’s ClearBlack technology that helped improve visibility when using the phone outside. The company also considered the C6-01 to be “a social networker’s dream” as it supported live feeds from leading social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, RenRen on its home screen.
