Dream

The HTC Dream is the same product as the T-Mobile G1. T-Mobile, which was the first network to offer an Android-powered mobile phone, had contractually secured the rights to have the product named as the T-Mobile G1 in the markets where it was active such as Germany, the UK and the USA. For other markets, a different name was required, and HTC decided to use the internal project name it had used for the device, the HTC Dream. Information on Orange's website at the time showed the device branded as HTC, rather than T-Mobile. (see below)
