The HD Mini reflected a growing trend at the time to take a flagship device, in this case the
HTC HD2, and shrink it down to a smaller size. Sony Ericsson had taken a similar design approach with the
X10 Mini.
The HD Mini was powered by Windows Mobile 6.5.3. A notable element of the product's design was its bright yellow chassis and visible screws (see below).

It had a 3.2-inch capacitive touch display (compared to the giant 4.3-inch display on the HD2) that made it possible to zoom in and out and resize websites, Microsoft Office files, pictures and PDF documents.
