The J-T06 was manufactured by Toshiba for the J-Phone PDC network in Japan.
Its main feature was the 0.1Mpx camera which was a standard inclusion on many feature phones at the time. However, Toshiba included an external flash that attached to the 2.5mm audio port of the phone which was a significant differentiator.
To use the flash, a user merely had to activate it and take a picture at the same time by utilising the side button on the phone (not the main centre button). It also featured a fun audible count-down.
The J-T06 was also the first Toshiba mobile phone to support J-Phone's sha-mail. It was initially supported on the
J-Phone J-SH04 ten months earlier.
The phone, which had a built-in torch, came in four colours: sword silver, tropical orange, cosmo black and misty pink.
