The Unihertz Jelly phone was the result of a Kickstarter campaign to create the world’s smallest 4G-capable smartphone at the time. The campaign raised $1,251,380 from 10,964 backers. It reached its goal of $30,000 in less than an hour.
The mini-sized phone, which had a 2.45-inch display, was a fully featured Android 7.0 (Nougat) smartphone. The company described it as "the ultimate answer to any situation where using a heavy, expensive primary phone is inconvenient."
The phone’s size made some features, such as the keyboard, difficult to use. Furthermore, the small fonts were hard to read. But these were the trade-offs required to create such a small product.
