The Samsung L310 was part of the company’s La Fleur collection and was targeted at the female market. The phone had a floral design on the front cover which continued around the internal screen. There were also diamanté jewels around the camera. There was a cleverly designed S-shaped hinge and hidden external indicator light to alert users to new messages. It also had a hidden external display that could show messages and the details of incoming calls. The phone has basic features including a two-megapixel camera, a microSD slot, Bluetooth, an MP3 player, and a 3.5mm headset jack. There were also apps that Samsung felt would appeal to women at the time: a calorie counter and a shopping list app – something that would certainly not be acceptable today.
