The KS360 featured a touch screen, slide-out qwerty keypad and two-megapixel camera. It was available in four colour schemes: black and red, black and silver, white and soft pink, titanium and bright blue.
LG claimed it was designed to take advantage of the "popularity of social networking sites and instant messaging amongst younger audiences".
It came at a time when a large number of phone manufacturers were starting to launch low-cost consumer qwerty products. It marked a step change that saw qwerty devices no longer being limited to business users.
