Siemens ME45 was a dual-mode GSM phone. It was built on the same platform as the
Siemens S45. The phone had no camera but supported GPRS data transfer and included a WAP browser offering rudimentary Internet access.
The phone had a rugged design with a screw to keep the battery cover in place. It was also dust, drop and water resistant.
It was designed by "Designafairs" - a third party company that employed designers that had previously worked for Siemens. This company also designed the Siemens C45,
S45 and
SL55.
The ME45 was notable for being
featured in The Bourne Supremacy movie and was used by the lead star, Jason Bourne (Matt Damon).
