When it was introduced exclusively with mobile network operator Three, the NEC e338 became the smallest and lightest 3G video mobile to go on sale in Europe at the time. It had a basic camera with a rotating design suited to video calling, a key capability being promoted by the Three network at the time. However, with a resolution of just 352x288 pixels, it was not particularly suited to taking decent photographs.
