The NEC P100 (model number: MP5B2A2-1D) was introduced in 1993 and was a popular phone at the time. It could be used on the analogue ETACS network.
The LCD screen displayed two lines of characters and included a signal strength and battery level indicator.
The P100 could store up to 24 telephone numbers with speed dial access. It supported last number redial, controls to adjust the ringer volume, a call timer function and it had a noise cancelling microphone. A signal strength and battery power level meter function was also provided by means of a series of boxes shown on the screen.
The Mobile Phone Museum also owns a Vodac branded variant of the P100 which was released in the UK market by Vodafone with the model number: MP5B2B7-1A and a Vodafone branded variant with the model number: MP5B2B9-1A.
