The NEC P100 (model number: MP5B2A2-1D)  was released in 1992. At the time it was considered a revolutionary device with its space-age-like design and compact profile. It was a popular, cutting edge analogue “1G” phone that worked on ETACS (Extended Total Access Communication System)  networks.  Its size and weight meant it was marketed “as the first phone which you could forget was in your pocket”. It cost £700 ($880) at time of launch.
