Features

This rare device was a pioneering phone from Panasonic, notably for its thinness. The design philosophy was to create a product that could fit into a shirt pocket. The phone had a blue display and a pop-up antenna. It had a desktop charger with a slot for a second battery, since it needed two batteries to provide at least one day of use. There are some questions about the specifics of this phone's launch. It was either announced and then withdrawn before launch. Alternatively, some reports indicate it was launched but was withdrawn due to poor performance and a high failure rate. Poor performance included an inability to establish a reliable network connection. Other reported issues related to the extensive internal wiring and circuit boards. Due to its thin design, there were also issues with the connector between the two circuit boards, which developed “dry joints” from flexing, causing the phone to malfunction. The official name for the phone was EB-KJ3620; however, related variants were EB-KJ0170, EB-KJ0171, and EB-KJ0172. It may also have been known as the G-Series or G90.
