This phone was made by Japanese company Kokusai which later became part of Hitachi in 2000. We believe it was the first Philips branded hand portable mobile phone. It worked on analogue E-TACS networks. It was also marketed as the Philips Prestige Portable.
The phone featured a green illuminated keypad and screen. In 1988 it cost £1000 when sold in the UK.
It was also marketed as the British Telecom Coral.
