This test device was used by Qualcomm and DoCoMo when they were conducting interoperability testing in June 2004.
It was also used to test A-GPS interoperability with NEC as the Qualcomm MSM6250 chipset had fully integrated support for GPS technology.
The chipset went on to be used in a wide range of handsets and was notable for allowing roaming onto DoCoMo’s FOMA network in Japan.
