The Sanyo S750 was one of six 3G mobile phones that were announced by the Orange network in 2004. It marked Sanyo’s debut in the European market and was an exclusive handset for Orange in France and the UK.
Orange had originally planned to purchase 20,000 units from the Japanese manufacturer, but this was upgraded to 100,000 based on very bullish expectations for the 3G network launch. This proved to be a mistake and the company ended up substantially discounting 10’s of thousands of units to clear excess stock.
