The Sony Ericsson Vivaz pro was a qwerty keyboard variant of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz “optimised for messaging and entertainment”. At the time there was growing interest in qwerty devices, given the huge success of BlackBerry devices, so this was an important product for Sony Ericsson. Like the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, which was the company’s flagship phone in 2010, the focus by the company was to allow consumers “to produce and broadcast their best experiences in HD video”.  The Vivaz pro featured a 3.2″ 16:9 wide touchscreen. It also provided access to Sony Ericsson’s PlayNow service that offered access to applications, games and music. Sony Ericsson stated that the Vivaz pro featured its “new design philosophy ‘human curvature’” which was planned to become a consistent feature of the Sony Ericsson portfolio going forward. Apparently, it was “designed to mirror the shape of the human body, and at the same time delivering a precise and compelling way of interacting with the phone”.
