Korean company VK corporation entered the UK market in May 2004. The first two handsets it offered were the VK207i and the VK530.
The VK207i was positioned as a "'must-have' style accessory" focused on the "female teen market". It was described in the launch announcement as "The Glam Clam(shell) Mobile".
It included features such as "a compact mirror, bio-rhythm function and 40 polyphonic ringtones."
On the day of launch, the pink VK 207i was the best-selling pre-pay handset in UK retail outlets Woolworths, Tesco and Littlewoods.
