Features

The Vodafone 1231 was an entry-level Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone with a qwerty keyboard, quad-band EDGE, 1.3-megapixel camera and microSD slot. Notably, it lacked support for 3G and Wi-Fi. Manufactured by ZTE, it was the first of several low-cost (around €100) qwerty devices from Vodafone in 2009 as it tried to address the increasing demand for social networking devices. The V1231 also met Vodafone's long-held goal of purchasing smartphones with open operating systems for less than €150 as it sought to provide its users with applications beyond voice and text.
