Features

The W270 was dual-band GSM phone which was announced at the same time as the Motorola W230. It offered a handset targeted at users who wanted an affordable music phone. It featured dedicated music keys that activated a digital music player supporting MP3 music files and other common audio formats. Music could be stored on a microSD card with storage of up to 2GB capacity. The phone also offered an FM radio with RDS (Radio Data System) that displayed the artist, title and type of the songs when playing. This was important for sub-Sahara African and Indian markets where having an FM radio was an extremely attractive feature. This was also reflected in the languages supported by the device comprising seven African languages and Hinglish, Bengali and Tamil. The battery on the W270 had an impressive 450 hours of standby time and up to 9 hours of talk-time.
