When it was launched, Samsung described the Wave 723 (model number: GT-S7230E) as the “next step in the democratization of the smartphone market.” It was powered by Samsung’s “open smartphone platform” Bada OS.
Samsung hoped to “deliver a remarkable smartphone experience to a broader demographic of users.”
The Wave 723 had a 3.2-inch TFT-LCD display with “an application-centric interface” that gave users quick access to key apps. It also had Samsung’s Social Hub to access key social media services. The phone also supported Wi-Fi.
The phone was initially available in Germany and then gradually rolled out to other European markets as well as Southeast Asia, Middle East Asia, and Africa.
The Wave 723 had a metallic back cover which gave it a premium finish.
