The Xperia M was “designed to bring Sony experiences to a new market and price point”. Sony was aiming to bring the features from some of its high-tier products to lower-priced products with phones like the Xperia M.
The device used Sony’s OmniBalance design, which was first introduced with the
Xperia Z.
Sony said that the “aesthetic language [of the Xperia M] took the form of a precision-crafted skeleton frame, and gave the phone a seamless look that was both tactile and sleek.”
A dual SIM variant was also available which was called the Xperia Mdual.
Both devices were available in black, white and purple. There was also a bright yellow colour variation that was available for the single SIM model only. The museum has a white variant in its collection.
