The Xperia tipo was described by Sony Ericsson as being designed for consumers looking for “value and functionality”. The company hoped that it would appeal to consumers migrating from a feature phone to a smartphone for the first time.
The phone, which had a 3.2-megapixel camera, came in four colours: black, blue, red and white. It also came with a built-in application that allowed users to monitor their data usage.
In addition to the single SIM version of the top, there was also a dual-SIM version called the Xperia tipodual.
