The Zero 18 (also known as the Z18) was created by a small Berlin-based consumer electronics company, Blloc. It was a good looking with a zinc alloy frame with glass panelled rear face. The core philosophy was to reduce the distraction of using a mobile phone. This was primarily centred around a default monochromatic, black-and-white interface and various tools that allowed you to enter a “no distraction mode” with a minimalist home screen. Blloc eventually abandoned making smartphones and focused its efforts on the Ratio launcher which could be installed on any Android phone. The phone cost €359 with comprehensive one year accident insurance cover included and €299 without the insurance cover. Blloc Smartphone 2
