The Nokia 3589i was a “full-colour” phone designed specifically for US carrier Verizon Wireless. It was manufactured in Korea and was the first Nokia phone to feature Qualcomm’s BREW platform. It also supported Verizon Wireless' “Get It Now” service which allowed users to download entertainment and productivity applications directly to the handset. Nokia described the phone as bringing “a unique combination of personalization tools, ease-of-use and powerful features” to Verizon Wireless customers. As with other Nokia phones during this era it featured optional Xpress-on front and back covers to customise the phone. The phone supported the following network technologies: CDMA 800 / 1900 MHz, 800 MHz AMPS. The design of the phone was similar to the Nokia 3585i, 3586i and 3588i.
