When it was launched, the Nokia 5330 XpressMusic was described as having an “edgy, top-sliced design”.  It also offered “illumination effects” when music was played on the phone. Nokia marketed the device as being “ideal for music and keeping in touch with your social network”. The phone provided access to the social media networks Facebook and MySpace. The phone offered access to Nokia’s “Comes With Music” subscription-based music service that gave users unlimited access to over six million songs from the Nokia Music Store. It also had dedicated touch-sensitive music keys on the side of the display to control the music player. The phone was also notable for having a 3.5mm jack allowing users to connect their own headphones to listen to music. The 5330 XpressMusic had the capability of offering up to 26 hours of music playback time. Nokia bundled the phone with a 2GB microSD card which could hold up to 3,000 songs and the phone could support microSD cards of up to 16GB. At launch, the estimated retail price for the Nokia 5330 XpressMusic was €160. It was announced at the same time as the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic and the Nokia 5030 XpressRadio.
