The Nokia 216 (type: RM-1188) was originally announced by Microsoft but was eventually offered as the first Nokia-branded featured phone to be sold by HMD Global. This was a result of Microsoft transferring the assets of Nokia’s former mobile phone business to HMD Global and FIH Mobile (the major investors in HMD Global).
The phone was described as having a “beautifully crafted polycarbonate shell that was built to last and outstanding battery life to keep users connected for longer.”
The phone had a front and rear-facing camera with LED flash. It also had an FM Radio, MP3 and video player, and Bluetooth audio support for headsets. The rear camera LED flash doubled as a built-in torchlight.
