The Nokia 6600i slide (Type: RM-570) was an updated version of its popular predecessor, the Nokia 6600 slide. The company stated that it was “designed to attract quality-conscious consumers”. This was reflected in the brushed steel casing and chrome centre key, elements that were described as offering “both elegance and visual simplicity.” The phone was available in silver and black. (The device in the Mobile Phone Museum collection is the black variant).
The 6600i slide was very similar to the 6600 slide with the biggest upgrade coming with the five-megapixel camera rather than the 3.2-megapixel imaging sensor in the earlier model. When it launched, Nokia claimed the 6600i slide was the smallest five-megapixel slider phone in the world.
When it was first available the estimated retail price of the phone was €200.
