The W1 was Huawei’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphone and it was unveiled at the giant CES show in Las Vegas in January 2013.
Huawei described it as being "inspired and powered by people” – whatever that means (!) and went on to say that it was “a combination of Huawei’s user-centric design philosophy and Windows Phone 8 software, bringing consumers a truly compelling alternative.”
The phone was a budget Windows Phone device and was described as being designed to “give consumers access to an even wider range of Huawei smartphones at a price that makes sense”.
