The Huawei Ascend W2 was a affordable Microsoft Windows Phone 8 smartphone. It was a successor to the
Huawei Ascend W1. Huawei abandoned the Windows Phone platform after this device stating, “we have tried using the Windows Phone OS, but it has been difficult to persuade consumers to buy a Windows phone.”
Unusually for Huawei devices, it came in a range of bright colours including blue, yellow, and red (as well as black).
It had a 4.3-inch IPS WVGA LCD screen which featured “TFT Magic Touch” technology making it possible to use the phone when wearing gloves.
