Samsung described the B3310 as a "Compact Socialiser" based on its built-in qwerty keyboard and integrated support for Facebook and MySpace.
It's most notably design feature was the number keys which were arranged vertically in a straight line on the left-hand-side of the screen.
This unique styling was engineered to provide a numeric keypad when the phone was closed, but also to provide a more traditional "top line" of number keys when the full qwerty keyboard was open.
On paper, the design made sense, but when it came to dialling a number, it was unintuitive. The space bar was also tiny on the qwerty keyboard, making typing challenging.
The social media integration worked well on the device, but by the time it launched it was questionable how relevant MySpace remained.
Ultimately the B3310 was an interesting design idea at a punchy price but was not an approach that Samsung continued and was probably a leap to far in user experience.
