The Nokia C7, also known as the C7-00, received a strong reception when it was announced at the Nokia World event in London. It was described as a “beautifully crafted, sleek social networking smartphone” in the press release to announce its arrival.
It featured a design that was similar to Nokia’s Eseries range of devices, that the company described as “a stunning combination of stainless steel, glass and soft edges”.
The C7 had specifications that were almost identical to the
Nokia N8, other than a lower-specification eight-megapixel camera and no HMDI support. At the time, this presented operators and distributors with the challenge of how to position the C7 versus the N8. The problem arose as the N8 had shipped later than expected.
When it was launched, the Nokia C7 cost €335.
A premium version of the C7 known as
the Oro was launched in May 2011.
