The CM-D100 was manufactured by Siemens for Sony. It is similar to the Siemens S1. It is notable for the physical sliding on/off switch on the side of the device. It was one of the first GSM phones offered by Sony. It was able to receive SMS text messages but they could not be sent from the phone. Owners could set their own greetings on the screen when it was turned on. The user manual suggested that owners might want to display their own phone number.
