The HTC Desire 530 was launched together with the Desire 630 and Desire 825. This trio of devices refreshed HTC's mid-tier portfolio at the time.
Its specifications were in line with this segment of the market with the notable inclusion of hi-resolution audio support.
The Desire 530 also sported a distinctive finish known as ‘Micro Splash’. Paint was splattered onto the casing to offer a unique finish on each device. HTC described the process as “utilizing specially designed spray nozzles and different settings of pressure and paint viscosity, to create an object that not only looked different, but that looked like nothing else on the market.”
The phone came in two colour variants: graphite grey and solid stratus white.
Initially, this Micro Splash finish sounded like a strong concept, but the result was disappointing. To a casual observer, it looks as though the phones had been used while their owners were painting a wall.
