The Panasonic GD35 was an easily pocketable phone that was considered ‘sexy and stylish’ when it was launched. It had numerous features such as a clock with an alarm, a calculator, a game and animations that could be used in text messages.
It also featured a dedicated Internet button that provided access to the WAP browser which offered rudimentary Internet services.
Panasonic hoped the phone would appeal to texting enthusiasts and partnered with Tegic to offer the T9 predictive text capability that helped consumers quickly compose messages. Panasonic also provided templates with a range of pre-programmed messages.
Another feature of the phone was a vibrating alert that could ‘discreetly inform users of incoming calls and messages’.
