Features

The KF700 was notable for its three input methods which LG claimed delivered “an amazingly intuitive user interface and instant access to features.” The triple input elements were the three-inch touchscreen, alpha-numeric keypad and most-uniquely a “shortcut dial” which was a rotating wheel on the back of the device. This could be used with a thumb or finger on the side of the phone. LG referred to this blend of interfaces as "touch, tap and spin". LG claimed that its research had shown that users “wanted a phone that had plenty of features but didn’t take a long time fiddling with menus to figure out.” The “shortcut dial” allowed users to scroll through six user-selected features by controlling a virtual dial on screen. This could be done in any application, not just when the phone is idle. The shortcut dial could also be used to scroll through web pages or e-mails, adjust volume and perform other functions which considered worked well with the wheel interface.
