The M7600 Beat DJ (which was announced at the same time as the M6710 Beat Disc) was a striking round-ended phone designed to appeal to younger buyers. It supported quad-band GSM and EDGE, 3G HSDPA, integrated GPS and had an AMOLED screen and a three-megapixel camera.
The Beat DJ used a Bang & Olufsen ICEpower amplifier and the audio technology company's branding was featured quite prominently on the phone. This co-branding gave credibility to this music-centric device in a similar manner to Sony Ericsson's use of the Walkman brand and LG's use of the Dolby brand.
