The Motorola Manhattan (model number: MP1-1D11) was also been released as the
Motorola Memphis and on the Orange network, as the MR201.
This Manhattan provided a standard set of phone functions and support for sending and receiving SMS text messages. It had a small LCD display and keypad function buttons dedicated to the address book, menu, and SMS messaging. The 4.8v rechargeable battery could be replaced by four AA cells as an alternative.
It was designed to work on 2G GSM900 and GSM1800 networks. It offered a battery life delivering four hours talk time and 75 hours of standby time.
