Features

The Samsung Monte (model number: S5620) was described by the company as “the perfect fit for a full touch lifestyle” and designed for “style-conscious mobile users”. It used Samsung's own TouchWiz 2.0 Plus user interface which included apps for Facebook and MySpace. It also had widgets that supported Twitter and Bebo. The phone had an Internet browser and a rather novel feature at the time was an accelerometer that allowed onscreen images to automatically adjust as a user rotated the phone. The inclusion of GPS capability was combined with support for Google Latitude which was a feature within Google Maps that allowed users to keep their friends updated on where they were. Users could also geotag photos taken on the phone’s 3.2-megapixel camera. Samsung believed the Monte was “designed for those who appreciate beautiful design and outstanding performance at affordable price.”
