The Sagem MW 3020 was notable for being able to support rudimentary Internet access via its WAP (wireless application protocol) browser. This provided access to access a variety of information such as weather forecasts, news, stock prices and traffic news.
It had a large graphical screen that could display up to eight lines of text.
The phone could be customised with interchangeable front covers. It was also possible to download and compose ringtones.
The picture below shows the Sagem MW 3020 being advertised on the side of a tram in Prague, Czech Republic (thank you to
Ondřej Novák for sharing it).
