The Technophone PC 205 was designed in 1989 by Richard Seymour, who worked for consultants Seymour Powell who was working with Technophone at the time. It was modelled on military telephones.
The phone was smaller than the so-called brick phones that had been in the market up to that point. It was described as being “ergonomically designed” and “intended to be beautiful”.
It was given a D&AD (British Design and Art Direction)
Yellow Pencil award for Product Design in 1991.
