The Essential Phone (also know as PH-1) was launched by Android co-founder Andy Rubin. It had a titanium and ceramic body. The Essential venture was short-lived with the Essential Phone being discontinued in December 2018. The company stopped operating in February 2020 and its assets were purchased by Nothing, the company founded by Carl Pei.
