Features

The QCP-1960 was a 1900 MHz single-mode digital PCS phone which was part of Qualcomm’s Thin Phone range of fourth generation of CDMA digital wireless phones. The ultra-thin design featured an internal battery and hot-swappable external battery options. It was announced at the same time as the QCP-860. At the time of launch Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, president of Qualcomm Consumer Products stated that "'Thin is in' for consumer electronics in 1999” It had a five-line, backlit LCD display and two smart keys just below the display that enabled easy navigation through the menu options. There was also a customizable phone book with 99 memory storage locations. Data connectivity to a PC was available via an optional data cable which allowed users to download phone book information from their PC, or any device connected to it, including a variety of personal digital assistants (PDAs), to the QCP-1960’s internal phone book memory. The phone also had a wireless micro-browser enabling Internet access.
