The Siemens S40 was originally a mobile phone that had been developed by German phone maker Bosch which was acquired by Siemens in March 2000 as Siemens sought to expand its mobile-phone business. The S40 was a reworked version of the Bosch 1886.
It’s monochrome LCD display had a distinctive blue backlight. The phone also had an infrared port allowing it to be connected to a PC or PDA. The phone also had a voice memo app and could record phone calls.
