The Cat S62 was a product designed exclusively for US carrier T-Mobile. Bullitt Group described the phone as being “developed to excel in any work environment, from industry to America’s rural heartland.” T-Mobile hoped the device would appeal to first responders, construction workers, logistics, agriculture, field workers and more.
The phone was one of Bullitt’s most rugged phones at the time exceeding the US military standard MIL- SPEC 810H passing high and low temperature, thermal shocks, salt mist conditions, vibration and tumble tests.
It featured a 5.7″ display that was protected by scratch and shatter-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and was optimized for outdoor use. The display could also be used while wet or while wearing gloves.
In addition to quick charging and support from Qi Wireless Charging the S62 also incorporated two “Pogo pins” for external charging however a compatible accessory was never offered for the phone.
Unlike the S62 Pro, it did not feature the Flir thermal imaging camera.
When it was launched the Cat S62 cost $498.
