The Huawei U8300 was a qwerty Android-powered device which the company said was “aimed at the youth market”. It included support for social networking services Facebook and Twitter.
The shipped in multiple colours including green, purple and yellow. The device in the Mobile Phone Museum collection is white. It is believed to have been one of the first sub-€100 Android smartphones.
When it was released there were rumours that it has been designed by former Nokia and Ericsson employees who worked for Huawei in its newly opened Swedish offices.
