Features

Vodafone's 543 was designed to cater to the ever-expanding market for touch-screen devices, which had become particularly aspirational in the wake of the iPhone's global success. It offered a low-cost alternative to people who would never be able to afford an iPhone.
The 543 had a 2.4-inch touchscreen and exchangeable covers. It used the Opera Mini browser as part of an agreement Vodafone had made with Opera to offer a customised version of low- bandwidth browser on a range of Vodafone devices aimed at developing markets.
The phone also came with a pre-pay balance indicator which provided an always-on display of how much credit a customer had left to use. In October 2010, Vodafone collaborated with leading high-street fashion brand Miss Sixty to update the Vodafone 543 with exclusive customised covers and phone accessories “designed in colourful, on-trend graphics, all of which are reflective of the Miss Sixty brand”.
