The Sonim XP6 (Model number: XP6700) was offered by US operator AT&T and was described as being in the ‘anti-smartphone’ category. This was primarily because it incorporated a physical keyboard and button support into its design. The phone was marketed as being drop-resistant, with AT&T claiming it could be “comfortably dropped onto a concrete floor”. The company also promoted the fact that the Sonim XP6’s screen could be seen in direct sunlight and easily heard over the sound of heavy machinery thanks to its “extremely loud” 103-decibel phone ringer capability.
